Tanzania International Model United Nations (TIMUN) is one of the largest international youth gatherings in the country that brings young people from different countries together. TIMUN is a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) where young people aged 15-30 from different backgrounds get an opportunity to practice their diplomatic and leadership skills through debates and discussions governed by the United Nations rules and procedure.

For the past 20 years, since 1997, YUNA – Tanzania has been organizing the Model United Nations, Where participants take on roles as diplomats, research, investigate international issues, negotiate and debate and then develop solutions to world problems.

Model United Nations (MUN) Conference moreover facilitate a process that strengthens effective youth participation in the planning, implementation and evaluation of various global issues of the world which refers to the process of defining the future global development framework that will succeed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) of the UN. The Conference also creates an inclusive platform for youth that enables them to review the progress of the SDG’s, share ideas, experiences and innovative approaches for effectively contributing to the SDG framework and its implementation.
